Love as a Byproduct

This is an apt topic in these Covid-19 times don't you think? Whether you are single or not, i think love is one of the many issues to contend with while you are stuck at home. If you are single, you imagine what it would have been like being stuck at home with the person you love. If you are married, you are dealing with spending this much time with the person you love when maybe you haven't done that for so long. Maybe your marriage had been having issues and you are seeing this forced time together as a blessing in disguise or maybe it's revealing the cracks in the relationship. Maybe you are having to quarantine with your ex because of the kids.
Whatever the case is, while there is tragedy all around, domestic violence is on the rise, suicide is on the rise, people are dealing with some tough mental health issues, and the financial toll is enormous; I believe that a lot of people are experiencing love, are needing love, understanding love, or just appreciating love for what it is and maybe even for what it isn't.
According to Wikipedia (yes, i know), love is defined as that which encompasses a range of strong and positive emotional and mental states, from the most sublime virtue or good habit, the deepest interpersonal affection and to the simplest pleasure.
I've pondered on this a lot and then i listen to this episode of Modern Love on NPR and I am convinced that love is going to be another byproduct of Covid-19. These are tough and unusual times but I think rather than acquiring new skills, losing/gaining weight and learning how to do all the tik tok dances, most of us are coming out of this truly understanding and appreciating love. Love for God, love for self, love for a/our partner, love for a/our child(ren), love for what we do, love for our grocery workers, sanitation workers, police, fire-fighters, first responders, bankers and healthcare workers, love for the arts, love for sports and just loving every moment that you are blessed to have life.
Or maybe I a am just being optimistic.... Interestingly enough, this is not how i saw this post going but alas...
